“To think too long about doing a thing often becomes it's undoing", written by Eva Young.
Let's take some time to talk about procrastination. So many times, people have a problem with it and decide to get better at it. But they put it off:-) (that was a joke!)
Procrastination
Procrastination is putting off an action until a later time. I think we have all been guilty of procrastinating at one time or another in our lives.
While there are worse things you can do than procrastinate, it can really have an effect on your life. Let’s look at some of those effects.
- Frustration – when you put something off long enough, frustration builds. You get frustrated with the situation not getting resolved, and frustrated with yourself for not doing something about it.
- Lack of peace – you have this nagging feeling that something needs to change, but it’s not. This leaves you with a sense of uneasiness.
- Stagnation – things stay the same when you have a desire to see them change. This can zap your energy and motivation.
I know there are some of you out there who have been wanting to start a home based business for some time now, but have procrastinated for one reason or another. You find yourself in the same financial situation or job situation as you did last year at this time.
Let me encourage you to take a step and get a business started. Don’t wait any longer! Get started learning and acting on what you’re learning.
The cure for procrastination is activity – ACTivity. Find out what you need to do and act on it. Then next year, when you look back, you’ll feel good that you actually took that step.
You can always tweak your business model as you go along. But the crucial thing for most people is to get started in something. You will meet others as you’re in business and you’ll learn from them. You will try different marketing strategies – some will work and some won’t. But you will be acting on a desire you have had. And that is the only way to move forward.
